When the German ambassador of a Central Asian republic is attacked by a radical underground organization, a chain of events is triggered. An ambitious representative of the German government goes underground and tries to find the assassins. A cotton field worker is trapped by Islamic fundamentalists and a business man sees the opening of his new cotton factory in danger because of the assault. The Vegetable Lamb is a political thriller full of economical corruption and human exploitation.
DIRECTOR: THOMAS SIEBEN
Thomas Sieben, born in 1976 in Cologne, started political studies in Muenster (1997-1998) first, before going to the US to study film and photography at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Back in Germany, he released his first short film Hit and Run (2002). His first feature Distance featuring Ken Duken as a nondescript serial killer opened the Berlinale section "Perspektive" 2009. Distance and also his second feature film The Dam (2013) starring Friedrich Mücke and Liv Lisa Fries were invited to numerous festivals worldwide and won several awards.
